Core Coaching

Life Coaching

1. What is life coaching?question-mark

In a nutshell, life coaching is all about you. It’s a commitment you take to awaken and revitalize the relationship you have with yourself. It’s a professional relationship by choice that aims at helping individuals determine and achieve personal and professional goals. It’s a reason to unpack, unravel and deepen your learning about yourself to improve your performance and enhance your quality of life. Coaching will accelerate your progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. A coach’s role is to be your ally, your champion and your partner – all in service of your success and your development as a human being.

Note: Coaching is not therapy – although coaching and therapy do share some similarities, they accomplish very different things. Coaching is about action and increasing one’s performance, whereas therapy is about understanding the reasons behind someone’s progression through life. Coaching focuses on envisioning and creating the future you desire and the client and coach both ask: “what’s next/what now?” and is solution oriented. The focus is on evolving and manifesting potential.

2. What are the benefits of coaching?

Coaching enables you to:

  • Clarify and identify your goals
  • Become motivated into action and movement towards realizing your true desires
  • Create cohesion and ease in your decision making process that is aligned with who you truly are
  • Open new possibilites into your professional and personal life
  • Create a structure of accountability for your goals
  • Increase self-awareness
  • Identify your needs, strengths and core values
  • Have the presence of constant support and motivation

3. How is coaching different from other professions?

Consultants say: Here’s the solution. Coaches ensure you follow through.

Motivators say: Here’s the carrot and whip. Coaches create incentives within you.

Trainers say: Here’s how to do it. Coaches ensure you master that knowledge.

Mentors say: Let me show you the ropes. Coaches assist beyond corporate ladders.

Sport Coaches say: Here’s how to beat others. Coaches assure you’re in a win/win mode.

4. What is the basic philosophy behind life coaching?

Coaching brings one’s inner quest of self-discovery to the forefront and helps actualize it. It enables you to take charge of your life and elicits you to ask questions like, “who am I?”, “what am I doing here?”, “what’s my life all about?”, “what do I want to do?”, “where will I want to be in 10 years from now?”.

Coaching enables courageous inner dialogue and works for external solutions to overcome barriers, self-limiting beliefs and limitations. Whatever it is in your life that you desire, you can obtain it faster and more easily when you team up with a coach.

5. What is the typical format for CORE’s life coaching sessions?

An initial two hour session provides the opportunity to gather background information, necessary to launch the coaching relationship—this is called the INTAKE SESSION.  The information shared during this session will be useful in the development of your coaching session, as it will identify what areas of focus you would like to bring to the coaching process. This session will also give you an introduction to some of the specific coaching tools and language we will encounter.

Following this session, all subsequent appointments will be conducted over the phone. These sessions will be scheduled a month in advance and held on a weekly basis and will be scheduled before each month begins – the day and time will be kept the same during the month. Each call runs between 45-60 minutes in length.

6. What can I talk about with my life coach? Personal matters? Professional? How confidential is it?

Coaches are trained to deal with both personal and professional topics and I believe that both areas are strongly interrelated. Each client is treated as a whole being – the sum of many parts. My job is to help you  articulate your dreams, desires and aspirations, as well as help you clarify your mission, purpose and goals for your life as a whole. Once these are identified, they will all contribute greatly in helping you achieve the desired outcome in any area of your life. And rest assured, everything discussed during our sessions is kept completely confidential, except in rare instances where legal precedence requires disclosure of some information.

7. Everything in my life is going great. Do I really need a life coach?

Whether times are good or times are challenging, a coach helps you to explore greater possibilities for the sake of gaining a higher level of awareness and consciousness.

The desire to live life in alignment with what truly matters, the desire to live a life of conscious choice, and the desire to be fully present in the experience of one’s life, moment by moment, is valid in every scenario.

8. Do I have to commit for an extended period of time? How long is the usual starting commitment when working with a life coach?

From my experience, it takes an average of three months to solidify the relationship and begin to see real results. After this time period we will then reassess the time commitment and determine next steps. It’s important to note that results and time requirements will vary according to individual needs.

9. There are a lot of people out there saying they’re life coaches. How do I know who will work well with me?

Take advantage of the free initial sessions many coaches offer. Get a sense of the chemistry between the two of you and ask a lot of questions. If you’re feeling comfortable having a casual conversation with a coach, then chances are you’ll have great synergy within the coaching structure.

10. I have to ask – how much does it cost to engage CORE Coaching?

Different coaching packages are available. Please contact me directly for inquiries around pricing.

11. I want to get the most out of my sessions. How should I prepare for them?

The top four pre-requisites for our sessions are:

  • You must enter each session with an open mind
  • You must be ready to contribute honestly and with transparency
  • You must be willing to work hard and be challenged
  • You must be willing to maintain focus and a commitment to the process

Your level of engagement and input will drive new perspectives, opportunities, ideas, choices, new truths, new realities and new ways of being. When you bring genuine and thoughtful intentions to the coaching partnership, you will be able to maximize your potential and make decisions that align with your objectives. It’s critical to make your coaching sessions one of your top priorities, so do your best to not postpone or cancel our sessions.

Blessed Partnership

Change Creativity Spirituality

Relationships are to be consoled as it is to console myself
A beautiful pure soul moves with the flow of his body
In the direction of the tide of his love
The love that soothes, feeds, nurtures and pardons.
His love comes from the ultimate force
And it’s symbiotic with the needs, desires and deepest yearnings of my spirit.
He is [...]
