I consider it a privilege to do this work with my clients. Therapy is a moment of witnessing humanity and being witnessed - a moment that brings alive the idea that you truly are not alone in your struggles and that we all are the same in our pain. I believe that listening deeply gets to the core of that pain and provides healing. My work is centred around this idea that bonding through listening and care helps you to remember that you are resourceful and our work together will springboard from that place. I specialize in a wide range of anxiety related diagnoses. I also work with clients who are experiencing grief, perimenopause, relationship strain and depression.
More recently, much of my therapeutic style has been impacted by my Catholic faith. When my mother passed away in 2020, I was grief stricken by her loss in a way that changed me forever. I had a reversion experience with the Catholic faith and began to find solace in sacred practices like adoration, praying the rosary, attending latin mass, and having counsel with religious. My struggles through grief have been fundamentally guided by my faith and the understanding of the human person through the Catholic lens provided such a rich integration of human psychology and faith for me. Grief has a way of buckling us down like nothing else, but Christ has a way of holding us in his loving gaze, sharing the burden with us and setting us free. I've learned that the most healing approach in therapy is one that accepts and supports all of you - mind, body and spirit.
My official credentials are that I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a University of Toronto graduate with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am also a supervisor for psychotherapists in training and have been delivering workshops for 15+ years working with child and family facing organizations like Humber College City Wide Training, daycare centres and schools across the GTA to drive training initiatives to support and equip educators with tools and information about how to navigate and support the emotional landscape for children.
I look forward to accompanying you on your healing journey, knowing that the step you take towards reaching out, might be the hardest one you take. I am waiting on the other end to catch you.
